Finally, after the huge success of 'INFINITY 2008' here comes the new single from DARREN BAILIE – founder of the GURU JOSH PROJECT: 'PROTECT YOUR MIND 2009 (BRAVEHEART'.
With 'Infinity 2008' the Guru Josh Project succeeded to cause the biggest dance sensation since many years. For weeks, the track was blocking the top position of the European Billboard single charts. Besides numerous Gold and Platinum Records from all over Europe, the tune got honoured as “Best House / Garage Track” at the International Dance Music Awards 2009 in Miami. The official video clip at Youtube has been watched amazingly for over 50 million times…
By this thunderclap Darren Bailie – the founder and DJ of Guru Josh Project – catapulted himself straight into the premier league of international top acts and is touring the world as an in demand DJ since then. Just on time for the upcoming summer and exactly one year after the release of “Infinity 2008” his brand new hit single is waiting in the wings to kick off his career as a solo artist and capture the international charts once again: 'Protect Your Mind 2009 (Braveheart)'.
Of course a hymn like 'Infinity 2008' raised the bar sky high for all ambitions to follow up to this. Since he did not want to disappoint the expectations of the fans, Darren Bailie took his time to present a well considered and well engineered new single. As hinted by the title, the track is based on the overwhelming soundtrack of Mel Gibsons heroic epic “Braveheart” (nominated for the Oscar Best Original Score in 1996).
Although not being a Highlander but of Irish origin, the Braveheart theme is of deep emotional significance to Darren. After all the distinctive beautiful melody emanates from an Uilleann Pipe – the Irish version of the bagpipe, which is air powered by bellows operated by the elbow instead of the mouth. Hence he transports the traditional sounds of his cultural heritage into nowadays clubs evoking goose bumps and the feeling of freedom on the dancefloors all over the world…
For the production of “Protect Your Mind 2009” Darren teamed up with well known and much respected composer Torsten Stenzel who has worked already with international pop stars like Tina Turner, Chris Rea and Vanessa Mae, did remixes for Moby and Faithless and is responsible for the chart hits of Sakin & Friends and DJ Taucher!
Themed “never change a winning team” the new single from Darren Bailie will be released by BigCityBeats Recordings – home of 'Infinity 2008'.

In 2007 I had an idea to re-mix and release an old classic from 1900 called Infinity. So I did and sent it off to BCB, as my favorite track then was "Fascination - Phil Green" and it was on this label. In the mean time, I asked the old Guru from 1990 if he would join me in a project. He at first refused but I convinced him it would be a great venture. He agreed and the "Guru Josh Project" was formed........ I would like to thank everyone who helped make the track a huge success - Bernd at BCB for believing in my idea, signing the track and working so hard to promote it - Paul walden and Anders Nyman for joining me in the GJP - Klaas for a great remix - Jan Loechel for a awesome vocal, Jens Gimborn - Tim Binns for the UK release - Frank Ehrlich my manager for putting me where I needed to be to promote the track - My wife Stacy for backing me 100% and putting up with me touring all over and finally, everyone around the world for buying the track and making it the biggest dance track in the world for 2008........

My favorite shows: So far, I have had the pleasure of playing in many
countries. The best so far for me are:
Ireland - Any gig in Ireland is awesome,
the people are crazy!!
A small island near Malta called Gozo - The people here, for
such a small Island, are off the hook, they love electro!
Big City Beats - I have just
come back from their 5th birthday gig at Cocoon and I agree with the rest of the
world, the best club in the world 100%!!
NYE 2008/09 Berlin - I don't think I will ever
top this show, 1,000,000, yes one million people juming up and down to
Infinity.... unreal!!

I had the pleasure of playing just before and interviewing one of the
worlds leading Dj's, Tiesto at the United Respect gig in Essen, Germany. I gave
Tiesto some credit for the huge success of Infinity 2008 as he played the track
to death at everyone of his gigs in 2008. I was Overjoyed to play before him at Essen and then he agreed for me to interview him. In
my interview I thanked him for helping with my success etc. He seems like a real nice
guy and he is looking forward to my future releases.

The Dome 49 in Hanover was a total blast! Performing on stage with world
premier artist's like Razorlight, Lady Gaga, Katie Perry etc was awesome! The crowd response
when I came on stage was totally mind blowing...wow.... When I left the stage, Lady Gaga pulled me aside and said she loved what I am doing and that we need to talk
about hooking up and doing a release together. So watch this space!!
